You may see it when you look at the technical specifications of the printer you are using, or a print shop may refer to it when you ask them to print an image. The trick to creating your painting at the correct size on the screen for the size you want it to be when printed is to use the Print Size option in the ArtRage New File panel, and to understand DPI.ĭPI is an important concept when you want to print. This is because the number of dots (‘pixels’ on the screen) per inch of space is often different between screens and printed documents. The size of a painting on your computer screen is not necessarily the same as its size when printed. If you are unsure or need help, please contact us! If you no longer have the email from the online store, or their download link has expired, you can also download ArtRage from our Member Area once you’ve created a Member Area account and registered your ArtRage serial number.

The online store also sends you an email with your serial number and download links for ArtRage. Click the download link for your operating system to download the ArtRage installer. ArtRage Vitae doesn’t require a serial number or registration key. Hopefully this is helpful to others, as I believe this affects more devices that have both a pen and a touchscreen, such as the Surface Pro.After purchasing ArtRage Vitae from the Microsoft store or macOs App Store, you can download the app right away from that store.

Under Input Devices, disable everything except Use Realtime Stylus.

In ArtRage choose Edit>ArtRage Preferences.

To fix the delayed lines, do the following:

When you need it again, simply right click it and choose Enable.

Right click it and choose Disable (make sure you have a mouse or pen, so that you can still interact with your PC).

Mine shows as HID-compliant touch screen, but yours may be different.

Expand Human Interface Devices and look for your touch screen.

In the left sidebar select Device Manager.

Open the file browser and right click on This PC and choose Manage.

Having to use keyboard shortcuts to rotate the canvas is better than having accidental dabs of paint all over my work. To fix the accidental touches, I simply disabled touch entirely on my machine while using ArtRage.

I wanted to get back into painting, and I love how the oil paint works in ArtRage, so I dug into this a bit and found a solution that, while not perfect, works for me. It's not just me, as I have no problems with this in other drawing programs.

If I drew a vertical line, and then tried to quickly draw multiple horizontal lines staring at the vertical line, most of them would miss the vertical line by up to 1 cm.

There was a weird lag where lines would start randomly late.

Same thing happens when trying to use touch to zoom and rotate the canvas if you don't time it just right. While the pen disables touch when it's close to the surface of the screen, if I lifted it just a tiny bit too high (1-2cm), my hand would make random marks on the canvas.

There was no way to disable touch from drawing on the screen.

I used to use ArtRage on my old TabletPC with a Wacom pen and it worked great, but when I got a ThinkPad Yoga 12, with a Wacom EMR pen and a touchscreen, I stopped using it for two reasons.
